General Assistant
Location: Nuneaton
Hours: Monday – Friday, 07:30 – 17:00 (42 hours per week)

Job Introduction
As a General Assistant at our Nuneaton depot, you’ll play a hands-on, varied, and vital role in ensuring our depot runs smoothly and efficiently.
This is a key position within our operations, where no two days are the same. You’ll work across multiple areas of the depot, supporting different teams and activities to ensure we deliver an excellent service to our customers.
Your work will be a mix of practical tasks, customer service, and logistics support, including:
- Deliveries & Collections: Driving to customer sites to deliver or collect hire equipment, ensuring goods are handled safely and professionally.
- Loading & Unloading Vehicles: Helping with the safe loading and unloading of vehicles to maintain efficient depot operations.
- Equipment Care:
- Carrying out basic electrical testing of tools and equipment.
- Cleaning and preparing equipment to ensure it’s in top condition for the next hire.
- Stock Control: Managing inventory, checking stock levels, and ensuring accurate records are kept.
- Customer Service:
- Serving customers at the hire desk, providing product knowledge, and ensuring they receive excellent service.
- Assisting with queries both face-to-face and over the phone.
- Team Support: Assisting colleagues in different departments and being ready to step in wherever you’re needed to keep the depot running smoothly.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety and likes to be on the go, combining physical, hands-on work with customer-facing responsibilities.

What You’ll Need
- A full UK driving licence
- Basic computer skills for stock management and hire desk tasks
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- A positive attitude and willingness to adapt quickly to different tasks
- A focus on safety and doing things the right way
- The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
- A desire to provide excellent service to customers and colleagues alike
