Tendering Manager

Location: UK

Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual seeking a challenge, looking to gain experience within a global organisation, and motivated to make an impact.

You will be part of the Tendering department, reporting to the Tendering Supervisor and working within the wider Sales Support team. This team supports the aftermarket/service division of a large industrial engineering business. You will collaborate with local and regional colleagues to produce high-quality quotations to support order intake. Within your role, you will be responsible for specific regions/customers, including managing communication, resolving issues, and handling commercial discussions during the bid stage.

Your Profile

Strong problem-solving skills with a creative approach

Ability to collaborate effectively across teams, departments, and external partners

Continuous improvement mindset

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Well organised, methodical, and professional

Experience in tendering or bid management (preferred)

Sound commercial and financial knowledge (e.g., contract terms, margins, debt) with strong negotiation skills

Familiarity with ERP/CRM systems (e.g., SAP, Salesforce)

Understanding of international trade and customs requirements

Responsibilities

Prepare tenders for parts and service work, ensuring alignment with internal guidelines and contractual requirements

Maintain customer communication throughout the tendering process

Accurately process purchase orders in a timely manner while ensuring customer satisfaction and contractual compliance

Meet key performance targets (e.g., quotation response time, conversion rates, sales handovers)

Coordinate with sales and commercial teams to resolve issues

Participate in departmental improvement initiatives

Support the development of processes and procedures to drive consistency and continuous improvement

Manage commercial issues and customer discussions during the bid stage
