Are you a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with a passion for delivering cutting-edge data centre and mission-critical infrastructure projects? This is an opportunity to join a globally recognised engineering consultancy working at the forefront of sustainable, high-performance building design in Dublin.

The Role

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of hyperscale and colocation data centre projects across Ireland and Europe. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create innovative, energy-efficient mechanical systems that meet the demands of modern digital infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the mechanical design of data centre and mission-critical projects
  • Develop and review HVAC, cooling, and ventilation systems for high-load environments
  • Produce detailed design calculations, specifications, and technical reports
  • Collaborate with electrical, structural, and sustainability teams
  • Engage with clients, contractors, and stakeholders throughout project lifecycles
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and best practices
  • Support junior engineers and contribute to team development

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer within data centres or mission-critical environments
  • Strong expertise in HVAC systems, cooling strategies (e.g. CRAH/CRAC, liquid cooling), and thermal modelling
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, and IES or similar simulation software
  • Solid understanding of sustainability, energy efficiency, and low-carbon design principles
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Chartered status (or working towards) is highly desirable
