Are you a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with a passion for delivering cutting-edge data centre and mission-critical infrastructure projects? The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of hyperscale and colocation data centre projects across Ireland and Europe. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create innovative, energy-efficient mechanical systems that meet the demands of modern digital infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design of data centre and mission-critical projects
- Develop and review HVAC, cooling, and ventilation systems for high-load environments
- Produce detailed design calculations, specifications, and technical reports
- Collaborate with electrical, structural, and sustainability teams
- Engage with clients, contractors, and stakeholders throughout project lifecycles
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and best practices
- Support junior engineers and contribute to team development
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer within data centres or mission-critical environments
- Strong expertise in HVAC systems, cooling strategies (e.g. CRAH/CRAC, liquid cooling), and thermal modelling
- Proficiency in design tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, and IES or similar simulation software
- Solid understanding of sustainability, energy efficiency, and low-carbon design principles
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
- Chartered status (or working towards) is highly desirable
