Seeking a Quality Assurance Advisor to join a Tier 1 Oil & Gas contractor specialising in well decommissioning. The role is responsible for facilitating assurance activities to meet the requirements of customers, regulatory bodies, and certification authorities while supporting a culture of assurance and continuous improvement across the business. This is a permanent staff position based in Cove, Aberdeen with a requirement for offshore travel 3-4 times a year. Hybrid working & flexible start and finish times are on offer.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting and facilitating BMS audits and associated improvement plans.
- Carrying out MAH, rig/asset assurance audits offshore and within shipyard environments.
- Monitoring and supporting the timely close?out of BMS reports, including non?conformances, lessons learned, and management of change.
- Supporting BMS investigations, root cause analysis, and ongoing monitoring of preventative measures.
- Facilitating corporate assurance knowledge, awareness, and competence initiatives.
- Supporting and facilitating audits and assessments by independent verification bodies, approval bodies, external providers, and other interested parties.
- Supporting asset transition plans and assurance activities.
- Proactively supporting the implementation of project assurance plans.
- Providing support to members of the HSE team.
- Supporting and mentoring onshore and offshore personnel.
- Contributing to the organisation’s HSE strategies, aims, and objectives.
- Promoting a culture of assurance and continuous improvement.
- Uphold safety standards and address non?compliance where identified.
- Undertaking other duties appropriate to the role and level of competence.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Oil and gas industry experience.
- Certified Internal Auditor training recognised by IRCA.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience auditing QHSE management systems.
- Experience producing process and procedural documentation.
- Health and Safety qualification.
- Environmental qualification.
- Investigation and Root Cause Analysis training.
- Experience using software for the implementation of an approved management system.
Desirable:
- IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent Health and Safety qualification.
- Certified Lead Auditor training recognised by IRCA.
- Knowledge and experience of the full well life cycle.
- CPD maintained in line with relevant professional bodies (e.g. CQI, IOSH, IEMA).
- Offshore Survival certification.
Working Arrangements
- 37.5 hours per week.
- Flexible start and finish times.
- Hybrid working available following probation (1 day per week working from home).
Offshore Requirement
Although the role is primarily based in Cove, Aberdeen, there is a requirement to attend offshore locations approximately 3–4 times per year, typically for a few days at a time. Previous offshore experience is not essential but a willingness to travel offshore is essential.
