Head of MFL and EAL

We are seeking an inspiring and dynamic Head of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) and EAL to lead a thriving Faculty and make a real impact on student achievement. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate linguist who can deliver outstanding results at GCSE and A Level in Spanish, while also supporting and advancing our EAL provision.

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead and manage a diverse team of language teachers, fostering excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Deliver engaging lessons across KS2–KS5, inspiring students to achieve their full potential.
  • Bring languages alive through innovative teaching, dynamic resources, trips, and cultural experiences.
  • Support EAL students, including IELTS preparation, and work closely with the Head of English to monitor progress across all English courses.
  • Oversee curriculum planning, Schemes of Work, and departmental documentation, ensuring consistently high academic standards.
  • Use data effectively to inform planning and maintain outstanding examination results.

You will have a proven track record of academic success in languages, excellent leadership and classroom skills, and a genuine passion for inspiring students. Experience in teaching EAL and preparing students for IELTS is highly desirable.
