FULL DESCRIPTION
A Competence Specialist is required for an initial one-year contract assignment with a leading E&P business in Aberdeen. The role involves providing efficient competence advisory services within the company’s operated assets, technical, and HSE functions. The ideal candidate will have experience in the Upstream industry and be able to travel offshore.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and supporting site, business, and portfolio competence assurance plans.
- Conducting assessments and internal verification as required.
- Managing competence registers and building effective relationships with assessors and verifiers.
- Maintaining and reporting on competence management systems.
- Supporting audit and inspection activities related to competence.
- Promoting a positive safety culture and uphold HSE standards.
Requirements
- Production Operations background with several years’ experience in Oil & Gas operations.
- Proven experience in competence coordination within the sector.
- Offshore certifications (e.g. BOSIET, MIST) – site visits to offshore assets are required.
- PDA in Workplace Assessment using Direct and Indirect Methods.
- PDA in Internal Verification of Workplace Assessment.
- Working knowledge of competence management systems in the upstream energy industry.
