Our client, a well-established engineering company, is currently looking to recruit an experienced Fabricator to join their team. This is a hands-on role involving fabrication, assembly, and installation of structural and piping systems, both in the workshop and on client sites. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality work in line with industry standards and safety requirements.

Overview job description:

- Measuring, cutting, and preparing steel sections, plates, and pipework to required tolerances.

- Fabricating and assembling structural and piping systems.

- Installing structural and piping components on client sites.

- Carrying out welding activities (GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW) where qualified.

- Working to recognised standards including ISO, ASME, and AWS (if certified).

- Tack weld a range of materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminium, duplex, and cunifer.

- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and bills of materials (BOMs).

- Using calibrated equipment to ensure accuracy and quality.

- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and adhere to PPE requirements.

- Complying with HSE regulations, CDM 2015, and company procedures at all times.

- Representing the company professionally on client sites and when required.

Applicants to this role require:

- SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant trade qualification.

- Proven experience in fabrication within an engineering environment.

- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

- Experience using hand and power tools.

- Good understanding of fabrication processes and materials.

- Strong attention to detail and quality standards.

- Effective organisational and time management skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Requirements:

- Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces.

- Willingness to travel and work away from home as required.

- Flexible approach to working hours, including overtime, weekends, and night shifts.

- Experience working on CDM-regulated sites (preferred).

- Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 (advantageous).

- Full UK Driving Licence (preferred).
