Year 2 Teacher – Long-Term Role
Location: Merton, South West London
Start Date: After February Half-Term
Contract: Full-time, Long-term (until the end of the academic year)
Salary: £37,870 – £46,800 per annum (Outer London Pay Scale; based on experience)

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Merton is seeking an experienced Year 2 Teacher to join their team on a long-term basis for the remainder of the academic year, starting after February half-term. This role is ideal for a confident, established teacher who is happy to take on full class responsibility and work collaboratively within a supportive team.

Please note: this role is not suitable for ECTs.

The Role:

- Full-time Year 2 class teacher, five days per week
- Class of 30 pupils, supported by a Teaching Assistant
- Pupils include children on support plans and EHCPs
- Full teaching responsibilities, including planning, assessment, and reporting
- Normal teaching hours expected to ensure the role and responsibilities are completed effectively
- Weekly planning meetings with year-group colleagues
- Access to previous planning, adaptable to the cohort and teacher

The Ideal Candidate:

- Holds QTS (essential)
- Has proven experience teaching Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2
- Confident supporting pupils with additional needs, including EHCPs
- Strong classroom management and inclusive teaching practice
- Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with staff and parents
- Committed, organised, and able to hit the ground running
