HLTA – SEND / Inclusion

Are you a graduate or experienced practitioner passionate about SEND, psychology, behaviour, and inclusive education?

Are you looking for a role that will challenge you, develop you, and open doors into careers such as Educational Psychology, Teaching, SEN Leadership or Therapeutic Practice?

A highly respected, wellbeing-led secondary school in West London is seeking a dedicated HLTA (SEND) to join its inclusive team from February 2026. This is an exceptional opportunity to gain deep, hands-on experience working with pupils with complex SEND, high-level ASD and EHCPs, while also developing leadership and team-management skills that are invaluable for future professional pathways.

The school is known for its warm culture, strong SEND provision and investment in support staff. You will be trusted, supported and encouraged to grow – not just as a practitioner, but as a future leader in education or psychology.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting pupils with complex SEND through structured interventions, classroom support and targeted 1:1 and small-group work
  • Playing a key role in emotional regulation, behaviour support and sensory-aware routines
  • Assisting with or leading intimate care routines with professionalism, dignity and compassion
  • Leading and mentoring a team of Teaching Assistants, modelling best practice and emotional consistency
  • Contributing to the planning and adaptation of learning materials for pupils with EHCPs
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and external professionals, gaining insight into multi-disciplinary practice
  • Supporting pupils’ academic progress while prioritising wellbeing, communication and independence
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive and emotionally supportive learning environment

This Role Is Ideal If You Are:

  • A graduate considering Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy, SEN Teaching or Pastoral Leadership
  • Experienced in ASD, SEMH or complex needs support (school or specialist settings)
  • Confident, calm and emotionally intelligent in high-needs environments
  • Interested in leadership, mentoring and team coordination
  • Skilled at building trusting relationships with pupils, colleagues and families
  • HLTA-qualified or an experienced TA ready to step into a more senior role (training supported)

Why This School?

  • Outstanding experience for future psychologists and teachers
  • A warm, inclusive and highly supportive SEND team
  • Daily exposure to behavioural strategies, therapeutic approaches and EHCP-led provision
  • Clear opportunities for professional development and career progression
  • A leadership team that values and invests in high-quality support staff
  • The chance to make a profound, lasting impact on pupils with unique strengths and needs

This is not just a job – it’s a career-building opportunity for someone who wants to understand SEND deeply, develop professional confidence, and take meaningful steps toward a future in education or psychology.
