Responsibilities
As a Financial Account Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient financial operation of our firm and providing expert guidance to our clients. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and submitting financial statements to Companies House and HMRC
- Conducting daily financial analysis on client accounts and statements
- Leading strategic planning initiatives to drive sales and profit growth
- Negotiating fee structures and payment terms with clients
- Supervising trainees and supporting senior accountants in task execution
- Ensuring timely statutory filings for PAYE, Corporation Tax, and VAT
- Managing client queries and reporting to the principal to uphold service standards
- Organising workloads and ensuring delivery within agreed timelines
- Building and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders (e.g. auditors, solicitors, bankers, HMRC)
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in financial account management or similar role
- Strong understanding of UK accounting standards (FRS102a & FRS105)
- Proficiency in preparing tax computations and VAT returns
- Excellent negotiation and client communication skills
- Ability to supervise and mentor junior staff
- Familiarity with HMRC procedures and statutory compliance
Desirable Qualifications & Skills
- ACCA/ACA part-qualified or qualified
- Experience with accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
- Knowledge of financial strategy and business development
