Payroll Associate

Location: Norwich

As part of the Payroll Services Team, you’ll be responsible for managing high-volume, end-to-end payroll processing for our network of accountants, ensuring all tasks are completed in line with our contractual agreements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be an active member of our friendly Payroll Services Team working alongside our network of accountants to deliver end-to-end payroll services for their clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and accurately manage a portfolio of end-to-end payrolls
  • Collaborate closely with assigned accountants to ensure seamless payroll operations
  • Deliver client support via an online portal, addressing queries and ensuring satisfaction
  • Maintain detailed client records using Excel, ensuring accuracy and consistency
  • Stay current in payroll practices by attending training sessions and monitoring legislative updates impacting payroll processing.

PERSON SPECIFICATION & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Essential experience and skills required:

  • Minimum 2 years’ hands-on experience in payroll processing
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll components including:
  • Pro-rated pay calculations
  • Statutory Pay (SMP/SPP/ShPP/SSP)
  • RTIs - Full Payment Submission (FPS) & Employer Payment Summary (EPS)
  • Employment Allowance
  • Directors’ National Insurance
  • Confident in managing auto-enrolment compliance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with payroll software systems

Desirable Expertise

  • Recent experience in a payroll bureau or chartered accountancy practice
  • Advanced Excel capabilities (e.g., VLOOKUP, filters)
  • Working knowledge of BrightPay and Moneysoft payroll platforms
  • CIS – Construction Industry Scheme – Subcontractors and Deductions (Suffered)
