What will I be doing?

We have an exciting opportunity to join our finance team, as an AP Controller. This is a full-time, permanent role based at our offices in Sandford, Somerset. We are on the look out for someone who is forward thinking, and who is motivated to work as part of a busy and results driven finance team, with a keen commercial awareness.

As an AP Controller, you will be responsible for the processing and payments of purchase invoices onto the company accounting package as well as delivering high quality and robust financial information to the business, alongside other duties such as:

Purchase Ledger

  • Maintaining vendor accounts.
  • Processing of purchase orders, goods received notice & supplier invoices.
  • Production of the monthly multi-currency payment runs.
  • Production of the weekly payment run during apple season.
  • Reviewing aged creditors, resolving aged and incorrect items and controlling the month end closing process.
  • Reconciliation of insurance, council tax and all other standing order accounts.
  • Ensuring supplier queries are dealt with in a timely manner and resolved correctly and efficiently.
  • Filing of invoices and remittances.

General

  • Collate and provide accurate information as necessary in order to aid sound decision making.
  • General NAV support.
  • Point of contact for external auditors.
  • Undertake any other tasks as reasonably required by the Financial Controller or designated authority.

What are we looking for?

Requirements:

AAT Qualified (preferable, but not essential)

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experienced, forward thinking, commercially astute, focused on results with integrated 'end to end' thinking
  • Willing and able to dedicate time and attention to the detail, with a 'bigger picture' approach to thinking
  • Ability to develop and cement relationships quickly and effectively
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Dynamics (Navision) &/ or Business Central (preferable, but not essential)

Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience of delivering system improvements, producing accurate and detailed reports on time to tight deadlines
  • People management experience (preferable, but not essential)

Other Requirements:

  • Determination, drive and focused on results
  • Team player
  • Self-starter/motivated
  • Full UK Driving License
