About The Role
We are looking for a professional and customer-focused Security Guard to join our team at the prestigious Primark, Buttercrane Newry.In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure shopping environment for customers and staff while delivering exceptional customer service. You will conduct regular patrols, prevent theft and anti-social behaviour, and provide a visible security presence in the store.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular patrols of the store, including the shop floor, entrances, exits, stock areas, and other key locations, to deter theft, vandalism, and suspicious activity.
- Monitor CCTV systems and report any security concerns to management.
- Engage with customers in a friendly and approachable manner, offering assistance when required.
- Respond promptly to incidents, disturbances, or emergencies, following company procedures.
- Work closely with store management, security teams, and law enforcement when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies and report hazards or safety concerns.
- Provide detailed reports of incidents, patrols, and observations as required.
- Support store staff in handling challenging customer situations professionally and effectively.
- Assist with access control, including managing deliveries and ensuring restricted areas remain secure.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in retail security, loss prevention, or a similar security role preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and staff.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle difficult situations with confidence and discretion.
- Good observation and problem-solving skills to detect and respond to security threats.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A proactive and team-oriented approach to security.
- SIA (Security Industry Authority) license required.
