About The Role
Location: IKEA Exeter, EX2 7RX
Working Hours:
- Flexible Monday – Sunday
- Minimum 16 hours per week
Rate of pay: £12.81
A fantastic opportunity has arisen within [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] for a permanent position as a Flexible working Cleaning Hygiene Operative at our client’s prestigious site. This role requires a great deal of flexibility. You will be positioned according to business needs and provide cover for holidays and sickness & absence. Areas of working include manufacturing, warehouse, offices, communal & outside areas, and washrooms.
Main duties and Responsibilities:
- To conduct all cleaning tasks as detailed by the Schedules of Work as directed by the Supervisor / Site Manager
- To complete all controlled documents to evidence completion of work.
- To conduct all tasks with due regard to the contract specification and all legislation including Health and Safety, and Personal Hygiene.
- To ensure correct materials, equipment and methods are used at all times and equipment is kept clean and in good working order.
- Report faulty machinery / equipment immediately to your supervisor.
- To ensure company provided uniform is kept clean and tidy and PPE is always worn whilst at work.
- To use every effort to develop and maintain effective working relationships with our customer and your colleagues.
- Correct use “as trained” of cleaning chemicals.
- To attend training as required by your Line Manager / supervisor.
- Report all accidents and ‘near misses’ to your Line Manager / supervisor.
- Conduct any reasonable work instruction to the standard required.
- Dust control/vacuum and mop floors.
- Buff/Polish floors (using appropriate solution) per specification.
- Empty and reline waste bins.
- Dispose of rubbish
- Wash walls/ledges/desks/doors/glass/fixtures/fittings and chairs as per specification.
- Clean and maintain Toilets/Washrooms
- Clean Food preparation areas

Skills & Experience required.
- Cleaning experience essential however onsite training will be provided.
- Excellent communication skills
- Organisational and time-management skills
- Comfortable working alone and as part of a team
- Ability to prioritise and manage an ever-changing workload.
- A car or bike to access site (no public transport early in the mornings)
