St Michael’s Southwick is looking for a new parish priest with a willingness to love and serve God’s people and the local community.

The primary qualities being sought are a warm heart, a deep love of God, the gift of instilling reverence in worship, and a capacity to love people through times of change.

St Michael’s is characterised by

  • Generous and committed lay leaders
  • A parsonage, church and church hall that work well together
  • A congregation wanting to grow and develop
  • A central church tradition
  • A large fringe of people who attend major festivals
  • An interesting and diverse parochial context

There are also some exciting possibilities for partnerships with other parishes, and this may entail pastoral reorganisation. The new parish priest will therefore be in a position to help fashion and shape the Church’s response to the missional opportunities in this part of the deanery of Hove.
