This course builds your skills from the ground up, focusing on the practical application of maths in real-life scenarios. You will work towards either a Level 1 (equivalent to GCSE grade D-G or 3-1) or Level 2 (equivalent to GCSE grade A*-C or 9-4) qualification.
Qualification earned: Functional Skills Qualification in Mathematics at Level 1 or Level 2
Key Topics Covered:
Using Numbers and the Number System: Master the fundamentals, including fractions, decimals, and percentages, and apply them to solve practical problems.
Measures, Shape, and Space: Learn to work with measurements, including money, time, temperature, and distance. Understand area, perimeter, and volume.
Handling Information and Data: Develop your ability to read and interpret information from tables, charts, and graphs to make informed decisions.
Solving Mathematical Problems: Build problem-solving skills by applying your knowledge to multi-step tasks relevant to both work and home life.
Course Schedule: Minimum of 3 x 2.5-hour sessions per week. Length of course: 12 weeks.

To join this course, you generally need to: Be aged 19 or over. Live in Lincolnshire. Not already hold a GCSE in Maths at grade C (or 4) or above. Have the right to work in the UK.
