FULL DESCRIPTION
This qualification aims to develop learners’ knowledge and understanding of the Prevent duty, British values, safeguarding, and online safety. This qualification will help to develop learners’ knowledge and understanding to enable them to uphold British values in their current or future roles. This includes developing an understanding of the effects of extremism, radicalisation, and terrorism. The qualification also develops learners’ knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and online safety.

Principles of Safeguarding
On completion of this unit, you will:
- Understand the national and local context of safeguarding and protection from abuse.
- Understand the responsibilities of adults to safeguard children and young people.
- Know how to recognise potential and actual abuse and harm.
- Know how to respond if abuse is disclosed, suspected, or alleged.
- Understand ways to reduce the likelihood of abuse.
The Prevent Duty and its Importance in Society
On completion of this unit, you will:
- Understand the Prevent duty and its importance in society.
- Understand how extremism, terrorism, and radicalisation can be addressed and combated.
The Importance of Online Safety
On completion of this unit, you will:
- Understand the scope and risks of online activity.
- Understand how online risks can be minimised.
- Understand the influence of social media.
- Understand how to promote the safe use of social media.
- Understand how to recognise and respond to changes in behaviour indicating unsafe online activity.
The Importance of British Values
On completion of this unit, you will:
- Understand what is meant by ‘British Values’.
- Understand democracy in relation to British Values.
- Understand mutual respect, tolerance, and individual liberty.
- Know how to promote British Values in own activities.
