Job Description

We’re looking for someone who shares our enthusiasm to take up a role within Information Systems Services (ISS), as an Senior IT Engineer as part of the ISS Campus IT team. ISS supports a range of exciting projects and IT services for staff and students at the University.

The ISS Campus IT Team at [Employer hidden] provides high quality IT support services to approximately 16000 students and 4000 staff, through the delivery of second line support based teams across campus. This role coordinates the day to day operations of a team of IT Engineers providing technical support, advice and preventative maintenance in support of the Universities Teaching, Research and administrative functions. This includes support of IT and Audio Visual equipment in a variety of learning spaces.

You will contribute to the planning and implementation of maintenance and installation work, including implementing agreed changes and maintenance routines. Using management tools, you will determine load and performance statistics to identify operational problems and contribute to their resolution, checking that they are managed in accordance with agreed standards and procedures. You will provide reports and proposals for improvement to specialists, users and service managers.

You must have experience of working in a team based IT service environment. You will combine your IT, Audio Visual and problem solving skills with a strong user-focus to ensure excellent service to the user community. A full, clean driving license is desirable and occasional out of hours work and weekends may be required in supporting Events.
