Site Operative

Key Responsibilities

• Sort and segregate ferrous and non-ferrous materials as instructed
• Assist with loading and unloading vehicles
• Support material grading and stockpile management
• Maintain housekeeping standards across yard and processing areas
• Keep walkways and working areas clear and safe
• Support plant operators and supervisors with operational tasks
• Report hazards, defects or non-compliant materials
• Follow instructions from site management

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Wear appropriate PPE at all times
• Follow site Health & Safety policies and Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Remain vigilant around moving plant and vehicle movements
• Report near misses, unsafe acts or environmental concerns
• Support compliance with environmental permit conditions

Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Physically fit and able to undertake manual work
• Strong awareness of Health & Safety in an industrial setting
• Reliable and punctual
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Desirable:

• Experience within metal recycling or heavy industry
• Basic knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous materials
• Experience working in a yard environment
