FULL DESCRIPTION

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] are seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to join our team as a Weighbridge Operator at our Barnsley site. This is a varied role that combines core weighbridge duties with administrative support to the Site Manager and occasional yard and staff liaison responsibilities.

Your duties will include:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for the site, liaising with customers, contractors and visitors
  • Directing customer and vehicle activity across the site
  • Weighing inbound and outbound vehicles and maintaining accurate records
  • Organising and implementing procedures to improve weighbridge efficiency
  • Ensuring strict adherence to documentation and record-keeping processes
  • Managing and controlling site-specific data and stock sheets
  • Carrying out vehicle weight checks and supporting quality control processes
  • Supporting non-conformance reviews and stock control activities
  • Promoting and adhering to Health & Safety standards and a positive safety culture
  • Conducting occasional site walks and visitor checks as required
  • Providing administrative support to the Site Manager and assisting with general site coordination

This is a customer-facing position and strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential. You may be required to handle customer queries and act as an escalation point when necessary.

Skills and knowledge required:

  • Previous experience in a Weighbridge or Administrative / Supervisory role is essential
  • Strong IT skills with competence in Microsoft Office (experience with Microsoft Dynamics is advantageous)
  • Experience within the metal or waste recycling industry is beneficial but not essential – full training will be provided
  • Experience with haulage documentation (ADR, Consignment Notes) is desirable but not essential
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Trustworthy, reliable and self-motivated
  • Excellent customer service and people skills
