FULL DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the weighbridge system for inbound and outbound vehicles - Accurately record weights and material descriptions - Produce weighbridge tickets and associated documentation - Verify grade descriptions in liaison with Scrap Inspectors and Supervisors - Direct drivers safely in line with the site traffic management plan - Maintain accurate stock sheets and operational records - Escalate discrepancies, non-conforming loads or documentation issues - Support general administrative duties for the site - Ensure drivers and visitors comply with site PPE and safety rules
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain accurate and auditable records - Support adherence to environmental permit conditions - Ensure all documentation is completed in line with company procedures - Assist with audits and compliance reviews - Report operational or safety concerns promptly
Health, Safety & Site Standards
- Maintain vigilance regarding vehicle and plant movements - Follow site Health & Safety policies and Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) - Promote a positive safety culture - Maintain a clean and organised weighbridge office
Skills & Experience
Essential: - Previous experience in a Weighbridge or administrative role - Strong attention to detail and accuracy - Confident IT skills and ability to use internal systems - Good communication and organisational skills - Ability to remain calm in a busy operational environment Desirable: - Experience within metal recycling - Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous grading terminology - Experience with stock control documentation
