Non-Ferrous Supervisor
Location: Nottingham
Hours: Monday – Friday 07.00 – 17.00
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the non-ferrous team
- Allocate staff effectively to meet operational requirements
- Ensure pre-start checks are completed on both mobile and fixed plant
- Supervise daily maintenance activities including greasing, washing and cleaning
- Sort and prepare materials for recycling in line with quality standards
- Operate and maintain plant, machinery and vehicles including forklifts and other mobile plant
- Carry out manual handling of stock, parts and equipment where required
- Maintain a safe working environment at all times in line with Company Health & Safety policies
- Ensure all staff adhere to PPE requirements, SOPs and safety procedures
- Monitor environmental compliance within the working area
- Maintain appropriate stock levels of plant consumables to minimise downtime
- Support general site maintenance and housekeeping standards
Skills and Knowledge Required
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience
- Strong planning, organisational and workload-prioritisation skills
- Experience within the waste, recycling, metals or similar heavy industry is essential
- Knowledge of non-ferrous metals is essential
- Ability to build effective working relationships and motivate a team
- Practical experience operating plant and machinery is advantageous
- High awareness of Health & Safety and environmental compliance
