We are supporting a global scientific services organisation delivering formulation and pharmaceutical development expertise into regulated life-science environments. As part of their continued growth, we’re searching for aFormulation Group Lead Scientist tooversee and guide formulation scientists to deliver high-quality development projects, while acting as the technical lead for client work.

As part of their continued growth, we’re searching for aFormulation Group Lead Scientist tooversee and guide formulation scientists to deliver high-quality development projects, while acting as the technical lead for client work.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of formulation scientists
  • Act as technical lead and client contact for formulation projects
  • Deliver hands-on formulation and pre-formulation laboratory work
  • Support dosage form development, scale-up and characterisation activities
  • Ensure quality, safety, documentation and regulatory compliance
  • Interpret data, contribute to reports and support continuous improvement

To be considered for this position:

  • Degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Materials Science or similar
  • Experience leading or mentoring scientific teams
  • Strong background in formulation development and material characterisation (e.g., Particle size, PXRD, DSC, TGA).
  • Knowledge of dosage form development and laboratory-scale manufacturing
  • Experience using DoE/statistical tools to inform development work
  • Confident communicator with strong organisational skills

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role balancing technical expertise with people leadership and client engagement.
