Senior Laboratory Manager

Our client is a global provider of scientific solutions, helping laboratories around the world enable advancements in many areas such as pharmaceutical, food, environmental and healthcare. They are currently seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager or Laboratory Operations Manager to lead and oversee laboratory support operations within a major clinical diagnostic environment. They are currently seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager or Laboratory Operations Manager to lead and oversee laboratory support operations within a major clinical diagnostic environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a key leadership role, ensuring that laboratory services run smoothly, efficiently, and in full compliance with industry standards.

Reporting into senior operations leadership, the Senior Laboratory Manager will provide hands-on leadership across day-to-day laboratory operations while setting strategic direction for people, processes, and quality. The role combines scientific expertise with operational excellence, ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and compliant diagnostic services.

You will play a key role in maintaining accreditation standards, supporting audits, and driving efficiency and innovation across laboratory workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day delivery of laboratory services, ensuring operational excellence and compliance with regulatory standards (ISO 15189).
  • Lead and develop lab teams, driving performance, growth, collaboration, and safety.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for stakeholders, providing governance, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Driving efficiency and cost-saving opportunities across laboratory operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • BSc in a life sciences degree minimum (PhD preferred)
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of laboratory operations and management in a regulated clinical environment.
  • Expertise in high-throughput sequencing/molecular diagnostics
  • Familiarity with ISO 15189 and/or CAP standards
  • Proven line management experience, including staffing, training, and performance development.
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Excellent communication skills and client facing
