Trainee Technical Estimator

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is a specialist in natural and smoke ventilation systems and have been manufacturing, supplying, installing, and commissioning ventilation systems for over 30 years for a variety of projects of all shapes and sizes.

Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a talented and enthusiastic Trainee Technical Estimator to join the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • To prepare and issue quotations to Pre-Construction Manager for checking and ensure quotations are compliant with the current regulations and in accordance with Fire Strategies and Technical Specifications received with enquiries
  • Carry out technical designs for compliant ADB systems for above ground smoke control based upon drawings/layouts received
  • Carry out technical designs for compliant ADB/ADF systems for basements/enclosed car park based upon drawings/layouts received
  • Coordinate with the Business Development Managers - BDMs, ensuring scope of works are agreed and fully incorporated
  • Generate and compile costs to form a formal quotation, obtaining necessary sign offs, checking received information for compliance with current regulations and advise BDMs of any areas of technical non-compliance
  • Ensure all quotation records are kept up to date and all subcontract cost/correspondence are filed in appropriate marketing folders and in the correct format
  • To assist with the reconciliation of new orders into the business and all Company TQM procedures are followed and adhered to prior to issuing quotes

Candidate Requirements

  • ‘A’ level or equivalent grade in Maths
  • GCSE English
  • Excellent communication skills and highly organised
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Strong Microsoft Office/Excel skills
