FULL DESCRIPTION

As a Jewellery Product Assessor, you’ll play a key role in assessing, sorting, and preparing fine jewellery and precious metals for auction and sale. This role is ideal for someone with retail jewellery experience (e.g., Pandora, high-street jewellers), bench jewellers, or those with expertise in fine jewellery and auction processes who want to expand their skills and knowledge in the luxury and vintage market.

Key Responsibilities

    - Assess and catalogue high-value jewellery, identifying fine, antique, and collectible pieces with accuracy.

    - Sort and break down jewellery into solid gold scrap, carefully removing gemstones and non-gold components.

    - Identify metal purity and distinguish between carats using visual inspection and XRF testing (training provided).

    - Prepare and weigh solid gold for secure storage, adhering strictly to security protocols.

    - Create curated lots of fine jewellery to meet KPIs, producing detailed and accurate descriptions using internal tools.

    - Record weights, figures, and stock information meticulously.

    - Quality-check items for accuracy and compliance with all security standards.

    Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

      - Previous experience in retail jewellery settings (e.g. high-street jewellers), bench jewellers, or involvement in fine jewellery and auction processes is highly desirable.

      - Familiarity with vintage, antique, and fine jewellery, including hallmarks, carats, and metal purity.

      - Attention to detail with the ability to handle valuable items with precision and care.

      - Comfortable working with figures, weights, and Excel-based tracking systems.

      - Familiarity with vintage and antique jewellery is desirable, though not essential.

      - Experience with security protocols for high-value stock is a plus.
