Founding AI Engineer
Hybrid | London | £100-150k + Equity

We're working with a venture-backed AI startup building next-generation voice agents powered by LLMs, speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and real-time automation. This is a rare opportunity to join as a Founding Engineer - helping define the product, technology, and engineering culture from day one. If you enjoy building from scratch, solving difficult technical problems, and shipping impactful AI products fast, this role puts you at the centre of it all.

What You'll Do

  • Design, build, and ship core product features across the full stack (*Python, TypeScript, cloud infrastructure, integrations, event-driven systems*)
  • Take ownership of problems end-to-end - from discovery to delivery
  • Rapidly prototype MVP solutions while laying scalable technical foundations
  • Collaborate directly with customers to understand needs and deliver outcomes
  • Establish and promote best practices across testing, reliability, documentation, and security

What We're Looking For

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and system design skills
  • Experience with Python or TypeScript, or ability to learn quickly
  • Proven experience building and shipping complex software or AI products
  • Comfortable working across frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers
  • Confident collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Self-starter mindset with strong ownership and accountability

Nice to Have

  • Early-stage startup or founding engineer experience
  • Exposure to AI platforms, voice technology, automation, or event-driven architectures
  • Experience with modern cloud environments (Kubernetes, serverless, distributed systems)
  • Evidence of building products that solved real user problems
