Window Server Project Manager
We're looking for an experienced Technology Project Manager to lead a large-scale Windows Server upgrade programme within a global professional services organisation.
Job Title: Window Server Project Manager
Location: London, United Kingdom (Hybrid) Salary: £70,000 - £90,000 (FTC) Job Type: 6 Month FTC
This is a high-impact role focused on ensuring the enterprise server estate remains secure, supported, and compliant, while minimising risk to business-critical systems.
Job Responsibilities/Objectives
- Leading full lifecycle delivery from estate discovery and planning through to migration, testing, and decommissioning
- Developing and managing detailed project plans aligned to technology strategy and security standards
- Coordinating upgrade activity across data centre and hybrid environments
- Working closely with Infrastructure, Operations, Architecture, Application Owners, and Information Security teams
- Managing dependencies, risks, and service impacts across business-critical systems
- Ensuring robust runbooks, rollback plans, and change controls are in place
- Overseeing third-party vendors and delivery partners
- Driving governance, including RAID logs, reporting, and stakeholder updates
- Supporting smooth service transition and operational handover
Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Proven experience as an IT / Infrastructure Project Manager in complex enterprise environments
- Strong track record delivering Windows Server upgrade or OS refresh programmes
- Solid understanding of server infrastructure, dependencies, and enterprise environments
- Experience working with business-critical and regulated systems
- Strong stakeholder management across technical teams and vendors
- Experience operating within structured governance and change frameworks
- Knowledge of security, compliance, and OS lifecycle management
- Experience within professional services, financial services, or other regulated industries
