FULL DESCRIPTION

Job Title:Systems Engineer
Location: London- 3 days per week in office
Salary/Rate: £350 day rate inside ir35
Start Date: April 2026
Job Type: 1 year contract- likely to be extended

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

- Design, implement, and support server environments across Windows and Linux platforms
- Perform system analysis to identify improvements, resolve issues, and enhance performance
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot IoT devices and related infrastructure
- Work with APIs and integrate systems within diverse technical environments
- Support and maintain cloud-based and hybrid infrastructures
- Manage SaaS applications, including authentication protocols such as SAML and OIDC
- Troubleshoot networking issues involving firewalls, load balancers, and proxy servers
- Provide L2 and L3 support, ensuring timely resolution of escalated issues
- Collaborate with vendors, internal teams, and external partners to deliver technical solutions
- Lead or contribute to projects including device deployment, migration, and testing
- Maintain clear and accurate technical documentation
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Required Skills/Experience

- Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux, and networking fundamentals
- Experience with IoT devices, including configuration, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management
- Familiarity with cloud technologies and hybrid working environments
- Solid understanding of APIs, SaaS platforms, and authentication protocols (SAML, OIDC)
- Knowledge of IT support frameworks (L1, L2, L3), with hands-on L2/L3 experience
- Understanding of security principles including encryption, authentication, and authorization
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing projects such as system migrations and deployments
- Strong documentation and communication skills
