Priest in Charge for the Benefice of Welwyn Garden City, St Francis
We are looking for a Priest in Charge
- who will lead us in study, worship, and prayer
- who will inspire and challenge us in our faith
- who will nurture the gifts of the whole congregation
- who will bring joy into our worship
- who will embrace variety, while building on tradition.
We long for someone who can help us grow in confidence and in mission – especially among children, young people and families – and who will encourage the planting of fresh, sustainable expressions of ministry in our changing world.
The parish includes several day nurseries, a primary school (3-11; Ofsted: Good), secondary school (Mathematics and Computing academy; 11-18; Ofsted: Good) and a special school (2-19; Ofsted: Outstanding). Oaklands College (16+; Ofsted: Good) lies on the northern border of the parish.
The Vicarage is adjacent to the church with direct access to the vestry. The house is well-located for the town centre, just 300m from John Lewis and a range of retail outlets, restaurants and coffee shops. The mainline station, serving London Kings Cross is less than 500m away.
