Emmanuel Church Southall is prayerfully seeking a Christ-centred, mission-hearted priest to lead us into our next chapter. Situated at the heart of the Golf Links Estate, we are a multi-generational, multicultural church committed to loving God, loving our neighbour, and making disciples of all nations.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a warm, charismatic and welcoming congregation within a vibrant and changing community.
The Vicar of Emmanuel Church Southall will provide spiritual, pastoral and missional leadership to a diverse congregation, nurturing discipleship, strengthening children’s and youth ministry, and deepening our engagement with the wider community.
You will lead two Sunday congregations (morning English-speaking and afternoon multilingual, primarily Urdu-speaking), oversee pastoral and sacramental ministry, develop lay leadership, and work collaboratively within the Southall Mission Hub and the Diocese of London’s 2030 Vision.
We are seeking a leader who will help us grow younger, strengthen families, deepen prayer and discipleship, and expand our mission presence across the Golf Links Estate and beyond.

Duties and Responsibilities
Spiritual Leadership • Lead and preach at Sunday worship services (morning and multilingual afternoon). • Provide engaging, accessible biblical teaching that nurtures confident disciples. • Oversee sacramental ministry including Holy Communion, baptisms, confirmations and funerals. • Encourage a vibrant, Spirit-filled culture of prayer and worship.
Mission and Community Engagement • Develop Emmanuel’s presence on the Golf Links Estate through visible, relational ministry. • Strengthen links with local schools, care homes and community groups. • Support and grow existing outreach initiatives including Living Waters Café and community events. • Encourage evangelism and culturally sensitive mission in a multi-faith context.
Children, Youth and Families • Provide vision and leadership for sustainable children’s and youth ministry. • Support and equip volunteers serving toddlers, children and young people. • Foster intergenerational worship and discipleship.
Leadership and Collaboration • Work collaboratively with lay leaders, PCC and churchwardens, empowering others in ministry. • Strengthen unity across cultures and generations within the congregation. • Contribute actively to the Southall Mission Hub and clergy partnership. • Engage constructively with diocesan strategy and the 2030 Vision.
Governance and Stewardship • Provide oversight of safeguarding in line with Church of England guidance. • Work with the PCC and Treasurer to strengthen financial sustainability and stewardship. • Provide leadership in caring for and developing the church building and facilities.
Person Specification
Essential
• Ordained priest within the Church of England (or in communion with it). • A clear and lived commitment to Christ-centred ministry and the authority of Scripture. • Experience of leading diverse congregations across cultures and generations. • Ability to communicate biblical teaching in an engaging, accessible and pastorally sensitive way. • A heart for children, youth and families, with experience of supporting or developing ministry in this area. • Demonstrable ability to work collaboratively with lay leaders and teams. • Experience of ministry in a multicultural or multi-faith context, or clear willingness to learn. • Commitment to safeguarding and creating a safe church culture. • Confidence in financial awareness and partnership with PCC in stewardship matters.
Desirable
• Experience in estate or community-based ministry. • Ability to engage with multilingual congregations (Urdu/Punjabi/Hindi awareness welcomed but not essential). • Experience of developing new worshipping communities or outreach initiatives. • Experience of working within a hub or team-based model of ministry.
