About The Role

This is an exciting role to develop and lead Youth Engagement for [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] in London.Working closely with the Head of Youth Ministry and the Hub Leader to create a clear strategy for launching and sustaining mission with and for youth across London.

A person who is strongly self-motivated, confident to take initiative, make decisions quickly and able to inspire others will thrive in this fast-paced role. You will be responsible for developing the team regionally, managing budgets, driving prayer initiatives to fuel the work and raising the profile of the ministry by increasing networks.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Head of Youth Ministry and the Hub Leader to create a clear strategy for launching and sustaining mission with and for youth across London.
  • Working closely with churches, organise and run regular Charge Days
  • Regularly attend, or if there are gaps, pioneer a youth leaders and worker’s network in London
  • Build and deepen professional relationships with church leaders and youth workers across all denominations and Christian networks across London.
  • Develop a strategy of engaging with secondary schools including working with Message central evangelistic bands as strong catalysts for mission in schools and events
  • Be involved in delivering all the schools tours in the Hub
  • Work with the Head of Youth Ministry to plan and run an annual mission week for young people (The Scattering)
  • Oversee regional Message youth ministries
  • Line manage regional Charge Workers and schools workers

Person Specification

The post holder must be a committed Christian who believes in the Lordship of Christ and the authority of scripture, and who wants to see the Christian message communicated effectively to young people. Applicants should have a personal testimony of their Christian faith and be able to articulate a clear vision for their role within the work of The Message. The doctrinal basis of The Message is that of the Evangelical Alliance.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong communicator and public speaker.
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and under own initiative.
  • Relevant youth work or ministry experience.
