A Commissioning Officer plays a key role within the wider Public Health and Prevention, Adult Social Work and Safeguarding and Care Commissioning teams ad this role will work in Adult Care Commissioning, in the Older People and Physical Disabilities Team. This post is temporary for a twelve-month period to cover maternity leave.

A Commissioning Officer plays a key role within the wider Public Health and Prevention, Adult Social Work and Safeguarding and Care Commissioning teams ad this role will work in Adult Care Commissioning, in the Older People and Physical Disabilities Team.

This post is temporary for a twelve-month period to cover maternity leave, either as a fixed term post or as a secondment opportunity. Applicants wishing to apply for this as a secondment must have the agreement of their current line manager prior to submitting their application.

Main Responsibility

  • be responsible for leading on specific commissioning projects within the Accommodation Based Care Commissioning Programme
  • supporting other commissioning leads across the team on a range of projects.
  • assisting Consultants in Public Health or Lead Commissioners by providing specialist advice and support in all elements of commissioning, needs assessment and service design to achieve better outcomes.
  • be required to work with a wide variety of stakeholders and partners

The Ideal Candidate

You will:

  • understand Adult Social Care and the challenges faced in Staffordshire.
  • take a lead to deliver specific commissioning projects/schemes
  • work independently and be able to meet deadlines and objectives.
  • be able to work with a range of partners and stakeholders
  • Be able to interpret and present data and information
