As an Employment Broker within the Staffordshire Jobs and Careers team you will support Staffordshire residents, job seekers, employers, schools and colleges in order to develop opportunities for not only paid employment but support, mentor, and training to encourage people to develop a career.
You will work closely with job seekers, who have barriers into employment as well as supporting employers to match the ‘right person to the right opportunity’
Job Introduction
As an Employment Broker you will play a big part in making that happen. Working collaboratively across the County;
- promote innovative and engaging recruitment solutions that help us to attract the very best candidates to match to the best opportunities both within local employers and [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk].
- supporting job seekers on their career journey, including ex-offenders, Care Leavers, disabilities and refugee families
- supporting organisations and new developments county-wide with recruitment.
This is a 2 year fixed term role (from starting date)
Main Responsibility
You will:
- Support the operation of the SJC brokerage service by helping to establish operational processes, plus creating and relationship management of direct links with employers seeking support with recruitment of skilled, committed, and reliable employees.
- Work proactively with the assigned caseload of employers to ensure a comprehensive end-to-end recruitment and in-work support service.
- Identify and advise on appropriate employment pathways for residents and employers ensuring all options are promoted and considered including work experience.
- Support job seeking candidates with interview skills, CV creation, application support and guidance and undertake pre-employment checks when required; and providing specialist support for specific complex target cohorts.
- Support the Employability Manager by working collaboratively in partnership with key partners and stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and high-quality service is offered to both employers and candidates seeking employment.
- Support the Employability Manager to develop internal and external relationships to ensure the job brokerage offer is widely promoted and aligned with existing careers information, advice, and guidance services; seeking feedback to inform future team delivery plans and continuously improve the service.
- Provide both timely, accurate quantitative and qualitative performance data, and local labour market intelligence feedback to identify priority areas, cohorts, and provide specialist support for specific target cohorts, ensuring the allocated targets and key performance indicators are being achieved and corrective action agreed.
- Promote the job brokerage digital platform to employers and residents and provide local intelligence feedback to update the platform.
The Ideal Candidate
You will:
- be educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or have significant relevant experience in a similar role.
- have proven experience in developing services to meet employment and skills demands, and supporting diverse job seeker cohorts (e.g., ex-offenders, care leavers, refugees, people with disabilities).
- have in-depth knowledge of recruitment processes and policies, and experience working collaboratively with various agencies and sectors.
- be able to demonstrate the ability to achieve job-related targets, manage personal performance, and deliver bespoke recruitment solutions.
- be proficient in IT, particularly Microsoft Office, with strong data analysis and evaluation skills to support decision-making.
- have effective communication, influencing, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships and work independently to meet targets and deadlines.
