Job Introduction

Are you looking for a role where you can make a real difference?

Our aim at Staffordshire is to create an environment where families are supported to stay together safely and live well in their communities by building on their strengths. This is the right thing to do.

We’re looking for passionate and motivated individuals to join our newly transformed district teams. We have a hybrid approach to work to assist your work life balance, with a mixture of office and remote working.

The Vacancy that we have is in:

  • East Staffordshire  Full-time & Permanent
  • Tamworth - 1 year Fixed term

As a SEND keyworker, you will:

  • Be supporting the Family Practitioner Leads to carry out the Local Authority’s SEND duties in relation to co-ordinating EHC Assessments
  • Producing EHC Plans and carrying out annual reviews
  • You will work closely with our children and young people with special educational needs and disability and their families as well as a range of qualified professionals in education, health and social care.
  • Develop collaborative and respectful relationships, promoting choice and independence and improve outcomes
  • Ensure that education, health, and care plans comply with legal, regulatory, ethical and social requirements in addition to the policies, standards and procedures of the authority.

The Ideal Candidate

It’s a fast-paced role so you’ll need to be able to manage your own caseload independently and as part of the team.

You will also:

  • Need excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have knowledge of the SEND legislation plus, it’s important that you can reflect on practice and improve as a result.
