Job Introduction

We are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic people to join ACFS as Finance Officers. It is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy, fast paced department.

Adult and Children’s Financial Services (ACFS) support the delivery of the following [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] priorities:

  • To offer support at times of crisis to help people maintain their independence
  • That people know what to expect from care services, who is eligible and who will pay
  • There are quality and affordable care services available to meet people’s needs

ACFS is a pivotal part of the Adult and Children Social Care Pathways, responsible for facilitating and overseeing the payment to providers of Adult and Children’s Social Care and for the collection of client contributions in accordance with Care Act 2014 and local policy.

Adult Social Care covers people receiving care in their own house (non-Residential) or people who are living in a care home (Residential).

We have 4x vacancies as noted below:

  • 1 x Permanent Full-time 37 hours per week vacancy for a Finance Officer within ACFS.
  • 1 x Full time temporary until 30/11/2026, 37 hours per week vacancy for a Finance Officer within ACFS.
  • 2 x Full time temporary until 31/05/2027, 37 hours per week vacancy for a Finance Officer within ACFS.

This role is hybrid working where you will need to attend our office in Stafford (currently one day a week plus occasional meetings) and more often, working from home.

Main Responsibility

This role is principally responsible for the accurate and timely processing of Adult Social Care charges.

This involves accurate billing of charges to care recipients and payments to care providers, managing system records and liaison with financial representatives.

The Ideal Candidate

You'll have:

  • good communication skills and ability to develop effective working relationships.
  • ability to proactively provide excellent customer service.
  • ability to deliver accurate and timely completion of work.
  • competency in using multiple computer systems.
  • excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.

An understanding of social care and charging would be beneficial but isn’t essential as training will be provided, as well as ongoing support and development.

Interviews will be held in person week commencing 12 January 2026
