Strive Supply Chain are a leading management recruitment consultancy, specialising in Supply Chain, Production, Planning, Logistics, Transport & Warehouse Operations.

Our client is a leading FMCG Distribution business, who are currently recruiting for a HGV technicians at their head office in Lancaster. They are a leader in specialized logistics, general haulage, palletised distribution network, Scania Parts Dealership and third-party HGV vehicle repairs and management.

Experience needed:

  • A self-motivated individual with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Equivalent of NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds
  • Good organisational skills and able to work to deadlines
  • Team orientated
  • Proven working knowledge of workshop maintenance systems
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • C1+e licence holder (desirable)

Role Summary:

  • Operating from the Lancaster workshop or from a mobile workshop
  • Carrying out vehicle and trailer safety inspections, servicing, and repairs to DVSA standards of safety and compliance
  • Maintaining vehicle and trailer ancillaries and specialist body applications
  • Assisting whenever required with maintenance on mobile or fixed plant operated by the Operations team
  • Ensuring that associated company maintenance records are retained to the highest level to ensure compliance whether legislative
  • or to company procedures
  • Using the R2C fleet maintenance system for allocated work/repairs
  • Effectively communicating repair downtime, estimated repair times and completed repairs to the Workshop Supervisor and Service Manager as required
  • Keeping tooling and equipment to a good standard of repair and to report any equipment faults or calibrations due to the Works Manager
  • Assisting the parts team ordering products as required
