Want to lead composting operations that turn organic waste into valuable resources and support a more sustainable future? Join us as Compost Business Manager at our open windrow composting sites in Lount and Packington.

What you'll be doing

You'll play a key role in delivering efficient, safe, and compliant composting operations while growing the business:

  • Oversee subcontractor operations across two open windrow composting sites, ensuring safe, compliant delivery in line with contracts, environmental permits, and [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] standards.
  • Manage full PAS100 compliance, including record-keeping, sampling, certification maintenance for both sites, and sampling support for two additional regional facilities.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with existing compost customers (including agricultural outlets), identify new markets, and coordinate production and sales to maximise output and meet demand.
  • Manage leachate, waste, and weighbridge operations, while ensuring site infrastructure remains safe, efficient, and fit for purpose.
  • Support continual improvement, health & safety, and environmental performance across the sites.

What we're looking for

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and value passion for sustainable resource management:

  • Solid knowledge of PAS100 and composting operations, with understanding of mobile and fixed plant.
  • Experience building and maintaining strong customer or stakeholder relationships.
  • Understanding or previous experience in agriculture (highly advantageous but not essential).
  • COTC (Certificate of Technical Competence) in Treatment or Composting (or willingness and ability to obtain within 12 months).
  • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH (desirable but not essential — full training support provided).
