Night Care Assistant : Burscough

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team on nights at Stocks Hall Burscough. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to residents in a care home setting, assisting with daily living activities and ensuring the comfort and well-being of each individual. This role requires strong communication skills, a commitment to following care plans, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Duties

  • Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support individuals with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety at all times.
  • Help with meal preparation and feeding as necessary, promoting nutritional health.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents’ conditions to senior staff.
  • Follow individual care plans tailored to each resident’s needs, ensuring personalised support.
  • Engage residents in social activities and encourage participation to enhance their quality of life.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment within the care home.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues to foster a supportive atmosphere.
  • Utilise IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes as required.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong English language skills for effective communication with residents and team members.
  • Basic IT skills for maintaining records and using care management software.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with residents and their families.
  • A caring attitude, patience, and empathy towards individuals in need of support.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required by the service needs.
