FULL DESCRIPTION

Underwriting Assistant – Personal Lines

Location: Bristol

Salary: £25000 - £30000 per annum, Benefits: +Benefits Package

The role

This opportunity is to support the Bristol & Dublin offices across their Financial Lines, D&O and Professional Lines portfolios.

You will create and update documentation required to process submissions, policies and amendments, ensuring information is complete before sending it to our offshore processing team.

You will keep trackers and renewal lists updated, complete 4‑eye financial checks, and resolve data or booking queries within agreed SLAs. You will also support cash allocation and debt investigations, assist with month‑end activities, and maintain up‑to‑date system knowledge by processing regular items.

Alongside this, you will keep underwriting teams informed of workloads and progress against SLAs, respond to queries within required timeframes, and participate fully in team meetings.

You will assist with audits, help maintain training materials, support the training of offshore colleagues and new starters, and contribute to process improvements. Building productive relationships with underwriters, brokers and internal stakeholders is also an important part of the role.

What’s required

To be considered for this role we are looking for someone with:

  • Relevant insurance experience.
  • Experience with transactional insurance system Genius/IRIS highly desirable.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good MS Office skills; in particular Excel.
  • Experience of working to varying and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong analytical skills required
