Building Surveyor

Salary: £50000 - £70000 per annum, Benefits: Company Car / Car Allownce

Building Surveyor

We are currently working with a well-established and growing UK claims management and loss adjusting organisation that is expanding its regional surveying capability. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Building Surveyor to support the delivery of building repair projects arising from complex insurance claims. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with Loss Adjusters across a varied portfolio of commercial and complex material damage claims, managing projects from initial scope through to completion.

The Role As a Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for project managing building repair works associated with insurance claims, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required technical standards.

Key responsibilities:

  • Preparing Bills of Quantities and Schedules of Work
  • Project managing building repairs from instruction through to completion
  • Ensuring CDM requirements are appropriately scoped and applied
  • Preparing tender documentation and inviting tenders from contractors
  • Analysing tender returns and making recommendations
  • Negotiating variations and costs with contractors
  • Preparing interim valuations and managing project budgets
  • Preparing Party Wall notifications
  • Providing regular project updates to clients and other stakeholders
  • Supporting meetings and presentations with clients
  • Mentoring and supporting junior colleagues where required

About You

Strong experience within Building Surveying and Project Management

Knowledge of CDM regulations

Experience preparing tenders, schedules of work, and managing contractors

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

The ability to work independently while managing multiple projects

Experience dealing with insurance-related building claims such as fire, flood, subsidence or impact damage would be beneficial, but is not essential.
