We are seeking an experienced Costs Lawyer to manage a caseload of Defendant and/or Claimant files. The role involves all aspects of costs case management, including drafting bills of costs, points of dispute, schedules of costs, and negotiating on cost offers. You will work closely with internal and external clients, providing expert advice on insurance-related claims across sectors such as RTA, Employment, Public Liability, Industrial Disease, and Clinical Negligence. This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility to work from any office within England.
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Costs Lawyer to manage a caseload of Defendant and/or Claimant files. The role involves all aspects of costs case management, including drafting bills of costs, points of dispute, schedules of costs, and negotiating on cost offers. You will work closely with internal and external clients, providing expert advice on insurance-related claims across sectors such as RTA, Employment, Public Liability, Industrial Disease, and Clinical Negligence. Candidate Profile / Experience Needed:
- 3+ PQE as a Costs Lawyer, Solicitor, or equivalent
- Proven experience managing Defendant and/or Claimant costs files
- Strong knowledge of Fixed Recoverable Costs regime and costs case management
- Experience drafting bills of costs, points of dispute, and schedules of costs
- Advocacy experience in interim applications, costs CMCs, and detailed assessment hearings
- Excellent negotiation skills, including handling high-value and complex matters
- Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple cases efficiently
