We are currently recruiting for a Programme Director to working for a world leading Higher Education provider based in London to join their Strategic Change function on a 6 month initial contract. This role will be working as part of the Service Simplification Programme which is shaping and delivering complex change programmes with a specific focus on the HR and Finance Services in the business.

We are currently recruiting for a Programme Director to working for a world leading Higher Education provider based in London to join their Strategic Change function on a 6 month initial contract.

This role will be working as part of the Service Simplification Programme which is shaping and delivering complex change programmes with a specific focus on the HR and Finance Services in the business.

Your core duties will include:

  • Leading the end-to-end Services Simplification portfolio at a critical stage of delivery.
  • Single-point accountability for integrating multiple programmes and projects into a coherent, controlled, and confident portfolio that delivers measurable simplification outcomes
  • Strengthen delivery grip, ensure disciplined governance and assurance, actively manage cross-cutting risks and dependencies, and provide credible, consolidated reporting and engagement with senior leadership
  • Central to maintaining pace, confidence, and organisational alignment as the programme moves from mobilisation into sustained implementation.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Programme Director that has delivered large scale and complex change programmes across complex, large and dynamic organisations as well as:

  • Demonstrable experience of portfolio-level oversight, including integration of multiple programmes and projects.
  • Strong track record of managing delivery risk, dependencies, and benefits realisation at scale.
  • Experience providing assurance and credible reporting to executive-level stakeholders
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and influencing across organisational boundaries.
  • Specific HR or Finance based programmes would be highly beneficial
  • Strategic Thinker
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.

This role will be 2 days per week in the office and 3 days from home.

Day Rate – £700 to £1000 per day Umbrella based
