We are recruiting an experienced Contract and Commissioning Manager to lead the commissioning and management of a range of services across Children’s and Young People’s Services.

- 2 days per week in the office in Liverpool and 3 days from home

- £400 – £450 per day via umbrella company

- 3 month initial contract but likely to extend

We are recruiting an experienced Contract and Commissioning Manager to lead the commissioning and management of a range of services across Children’s and Young People’s Services.

You will be responsible for commissioning high-quality, effective services that meet the needs of children, young people, and their families, while ensuring robust contract management, performance monitoring, and value for money.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Commissioning services in partnership with children’s social care, education, health, and other agencies
  • Managing, reviewing, and monitoring contracts to ensure quality, performance, and compliance
  • Working closely with procurement, legal, and finance colleagues to meet regulatory and financial requirements
  • Contributing to the Commissioning and Sufficiency Strategy and delivery plans
  • Leading long-term projects to improve service delivery and outcomes
  • Producing clear management reports and identifying risks and issues
  • Maintaining strong internal stakeholder relationships and professional standards

About you:

  • Proven experience of commissioning within Children’s Services (education commissioning, including Alternative Provision, is an advantage)
  • Strong background in contract management, performance monitoring, and financial oversight
  • Experience of project delivery and working within a performance-driven environment
  • Excellent reporting, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A degree or equivalent qualification or relevant professional experience
