FULL DESCRIPTION

Role Description

We are seeking a post-qualified Management Accountant to join our London finance team. This role is integral to delivering accurate and timely reporting and providing the wider business with valuable insight and guidance. The successful candidate will take ownership of key month-end processes, act as a finance partner to budget holders, and support the Financial Controller in driving continuous improvements across processes and controls.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND RELATIONSHIPS_

  • Ownership of the month end closing timeline together with Finance Manager.
  • Preparation and posting of journals, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Variance analysis, reconciliations and commentary, ensuring integrity of reported results.
  • Preparation of the month-end reporting pack for management and central finance, ensuring accuracy and delivery to strict deadlines.
  • Reconciling of balance sheets.

Business Partnering

  • Lead monthly meetings with budget owners to review performance and variances.
  • Provide insight, challenge, and recommendations to non-finance stakeholders.

Systems, Processes & Controls

  • Supporting FC in maintaining controls, ensuring compliance with policies while also identifying opportunities for improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Supporting AP and AR teams with correct GL coding for transaction accuracy.
  • Drive automation of reporting files and journals in Excel.
  • Ensure efficient and accurate use of NetSuite across finance.

Intercompany & Compliance

  • Manage intercompany journals and reconciliations.
  • Assist with year-end and interim audit deliverables.

Ad hoc & Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting.
  • Ad hoc analysis and reporting.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information clearly to non-financial audiences.

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS_

  • ACCA qualified (or equivalent), with strong post-qualification experience
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to translate data into meaningful insights.
  • Advanced Excel skills desirable.
  • Experience using NetSuite preferred (or similar ERP systems).
  • Previous experience in the Media sector advantageous but not essential.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive, hands-on approach and willingness to get into the detail when required.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and credibility when engaging with stakeholders across the business.
