Assistant Clinical Psychologist
The North Stoke CAMHS Team are looking to recruit a part-time [30 hours per week] Band 4 Assistant Clinical Psychologist to join their multi-disciplinary Team . The successful candidate will have paid experience of working as an Assistant Psychologist. The successful candidate will support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the agreed Directorate, across all sectors of care; providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist, working independently according to a plan agreed with the qualified psychologist and within the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.

Main duties of the job
- Assists in the promotion of a psychologically informed approach to the understanding and management of the problems and needs of all clients within the service area covered.
- Under the clinical supervision and guidance of a qualified psychologist, collaborates with other members of the MDT in case and care reviews in the context of the Care Programme Approach and other relevant clinical systems applying in inpatient, day patient or outpatient settings.
- Attends and contributes to appropriate multi-disciplinary meetings, providing a psychological perspective or psychological information in conjunction with or on behalf of the qualified psychologist with supervises their practice.

Job description
Job responsibilities
- Observes professional codes of practice of the BPS, Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), Trust policies and procedures and terms and conditions of employment.
- Responsible for working within limits appropriate to qualifications, competences and experience.
- In common with all applied psychologists, receives regular clinical supervision in accordance with professional practice guidelines.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- An upper second class honours degree or higher in psychology
Knowledge
- Experience of work with people with mental health problems or disabilities, or other relevant problems or disabilities (e.g. learning disabilities, organic impairment).
Knowledge
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) including an ability to work and effectively communicate complex or sensitive information in highly emotive and emotionally charged settings involving conflict and significant personal distress.
