District Nurse / Senior Community Nurse - SHaR District Nurse Team

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Community Nurse to work within Community Services, Family Health. The successful candidate will be expected to support their team, department and organisation to achieve the Trust's Values in their day-to-day work.

Contract type:

  • District Nurse (SPQ) - Permanent.
  • Senior Community Nurse-Development post. This is a Fixed Term post of 12 months with a potential to extend for a further 12 months.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Community Nurse to work within Community Services, Family Health.

The successful candidate will be expected to support their team, department and organisation to achieve the Trust's Values in their day-to-day work.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an experienced Senior Community Nurse with excellent clinical, communication skills and evidence of caseload management experience wishing to develop their skills further in a team leadership position.

You should be innovative, enthusiastic and highly motivated with the drive to provide high quality evidenced based care and manage a team of varying skill mix.

You will need to provide strongleadership toyour team and tosupport and participate in the development of new ways of working following the recent service redesign. This will be in addition to embracingworking within a multi-disciplinary environment and managing acaseload of patients with complex needs.

As a Senior Community Nurse working in a development role there is an expectation that within 2 years you will secure a place on a specialist practitioner course to become a qualified District Nurse.

The ability to transport yourself and equipment across the locality during the course of a normal working day is required for this vacancy. Access to a vehicle that can be used for business purposes and hold a full and valid driving licence (role will involve travel to numerous addresses that cannot be easily accessed by public transport means) is required.
