Health Care Support Worker

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 2 Health Care Support Workers to join the team at South Pembrokeshire Hospital, Sunderland Ward to cover Maternity Leave. This is a 40 bedded unit focusing on slow rehabilitation/Frailty Ward. The service is consultant led. Admission are accepted from the community and Withybush General Hospital. The team works alongside the community, primary care and the acute site to develop an integrated rehabilitation approach to promoting patient independence and best outcomes for discharge.

Main duties of the job

The candidate should be able to demonstrate some experience working with the elderly and understand the principles of rehabilitation nursing.

Full-time or part-time hours are available for a fixed term.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Level 2 in care or Ability to undertake a period of Induction and on the job training to include theoretical knowledge of care and a range of work-related procedures, for example completion of a competency based workbook equivalent to Level 2 vocational qualification
  • Ability to understand and comply with mandatory induction standards and Code of Conduct for Health Care Support Workers in Wales

Desirable

  • Level 2 vocational qualification in relevant health care related subject

Experience
