Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to work within an innovative, dynamic and growing multi-disciplinary Community CYPMH in LSCFT- Fylde and Wyre. The children & young people who access our services present with a wide range of emotional and mental health difficulties ranging from moderate to severe.
You would be joining an established, supportive and hardworking team who are passionate about improving the outcomes for the children, young people and their families/carers.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide a specialist nursing role working as part of the multidisciplinary CYPMHS team to provide the best care for children and young people with a diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Candidates are required to have extensive knowledge in child development, neurodevelopmental disorders, risk assessment and comorbid mental health conditions. The candidate would also be involved in the development and leadership of ADHD clinics which would include a non-medical prescribing role.
The post holders will support their peers and team coordinator and be an effective team member whilst working on their own initiative. They will supervise other staff members as required. They will have a commitment to collaborative working and actively supporting and liaising with other health and social professionals and agencies.

Person Specification
Education / Qualifications
Essential
- First level nursing qualification, RMN or equivalent.
- Independent & Supplementary Nurse Prescribing V300.
Knowledge
Essential
- Demonstrable knowledge and skills in evidence-based needs led assessments, of highly complex and co-morbid presentations of children, young people, their families and carers.
- Clinical/safeguarding risk assessment skills.
- Good knowledge of legislation, acts and developments relevant to the field of child related work.
Experience
Essential
- Demonstrable knowledge/understanding and experience in assessment of young people with complex mental health and/or complex needs such as ADHD/ASD.
- Demonstrable leadership and change management skills.
