Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for Primary Care Nurses to join our Out of Hours service starting on 1st July 2026 on a flexible working pattern
The post-holder will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients accessing Out of Hours services across Camden GP Practices, operated by [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk].
Working within professional boundaries, the nurse will provide assessment, triage, treatment, screening, and health education to patients of all ages, from infants to the elderly.
Shifts will be available in our Out of Hours Service Hubs (North & South Camden)in the evening (18:30-20:00), Weekends and Bank holidays (08:00-20:00)

Clinical Responsibilities
Manage:
- Minor illnesses and injuries
- Acute presentations
- Long-term condition exacerbations
Deliver safe, effective care within scope of practice and recognise limitations
Apply infection prevention and control measures at all times
Undertake clinical procedures including:
- Venepuncture and specimen collection
- Wound care and dressings
- Cervical screening (if trained)
- Ear care and other routine treatments
Provide family planning and contraceptive advice (if trained)
Deliver immunisations in line with national schedules and PGDs/PSDs
Provide travel health advice and vaccinations
Promote health and wellbeing through brief interventions
Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid where required
Ensure safe storage, handling, and administration of medications and vaccines
Maintain safe clinical environments and equipment
Person Specification
Experience
- Awareness of clinical governance issues in primary care
- Insight and understanding of current issues in nursing and the NHS
- Evidence of appropriate knowledge base
- Interest and basic knowledge in long-term conditions
- Demonstrate an understanding of audit
- IT skills
- Primary care experience
Qualifications
- Registered nurse
Skills and abilities
- Clinical skills cervical cytology, ear care
- Good interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
- Evidence of problem-solving and decision making skills
- Good team player
- Able to work with own initiative
- Ability to be reflective, accept criticism and act constructively
- Willingness to accept additional responsibilities
